Reading the result
- Latency before throughput
- A high figure with normal latency points at capacity or shaping. A normal figure with high jitter points at contention or a wireless segment. The two numbers answer different questions.
- Upload is measured optimistically
- Browser upload progress counts bytes handed to the socket, not bytes acknowledged, so the first moments over-report. The warm-up window is discarded for exactly this reason, but treat upload as the softer of the two figures.
- Test wired before opening a ticket
- A number taken over Wi-Fi measures your Wi-Fi. If you intend to quote this result in a support case, run it on a cabled connection with other traffic idle.
